Meal ordering using PDAs.
The PDAs' functions are based on the 'menu assistant' software module. Using mobile devices, service personnel can take down changes and patients' wishes directly at the bedside or table and at short notice, and forward them immediately to the canteen computer – even when the ward PC is not available. An additional, valuable application for PDAs is the precise and continuous data capture of meals taken. This is especially important in retirement homes, where malnutrition is often an issue.
